Trailer for Sky and HBO horror-comedy series
The Baby
by Ellis Reed
I’m a few days late with this one, but it’s just crossed my radar and is definitely worth a look: Sky Atlantic and HBO have ordered an eight-part horror-comedy series called The Baby, which will air on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
The show has been co-created by Siân Robins-Grace and Lucy Gaymer for Sister Pictures and is due to arrive this year. Robins-Grace previously worked as a producer on Sex Education (Netflix, Laurie Dunn, 2019–), while Gaymer was a production manager on Gangs Of London (Sky Atlantic, Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, 2020). The show stars Michelle De Swarte, Amber Grappy, and Amira Ghazalla, and the synopsis is as follows:
‘When 38-year-old Natasha is unexpectedly landed with a baby, her life of doing what she wants, when she wants, dramatically implodes. Controlling, manipulative and with violent powers, the baby twists Natasha’s life into a horror show. Where does it come from? What does it want? And what lengths will Natasha have to go to in order to get her life back? She doesn’t want a baby. The baby wants her.’
