by Ellis Reed
Toronto and LA-based Double Dutch International will handle worldwide sales for When the Screaming Starts, the directorial debut of UK filmmaker Conor Boru, which premiered at FrightFest in 2021.
The film has been generating a lot of buzz on the indie horror grapevine, with Starburst describing it as ‘a joyous film that you’ll want to re-watch almost immediately.’ Sharai Bohannon – a staff writer at Dread Central – included it in her top ten films of 2021.
The IMDb plot summary is as follows:
‘When Norman Graysmith is invited into the home of an aspiring serial killer, Aidan Mendle, he believes he has the subject for the documentary that will make his career.’
The would-be gonzo is played by Jared Rogers, while Ed Hartland – who also wrote the film with Boru – appears on screen as the killer. You can check out the trailer below and follow the production on Twitter.
