Grimmfest
announce dates and venue for 2022, passes now on sale
by Ellis Reed
Good news for horror fans: Grimmfest have announced that the 2022 in-person event will run from 6 to 9 October at the Odeon Great Northern in Manchester. For those of us who can’t make it, an online festival will run between 13 and 16 October.
Passes for the Manchester event are already on sale, and if you hurry, you might get yours at a reduced rate. We don’t know anything about the line-up because submissions are still open, but Grimmfest is one of the UK’s top genre festivals, and they’ll be bringing at least twenty features and two selections of short films.
The event is helmed by Simeon Halligan and Rachel Richardson-Jones, who brought us the award-winning White Settlers (2014) and Habit (2017). As well as festivals, the team runs a Youtube channel called Grimmfest TV, which currently has more than forty short films to enjoy. They certainly know their horror onions – Habit is one of my personal faves – so I look forward to seeing the line-up for 2022.
