Shepherd
out in Feb, available to pre-order now
by Ellis Reed
Darkland Distribution have announced the UK home release of Shepherd on 21 February. The film is by Russell Owen and will be available to own on iTunes and Blu-Ray.
The IMDb plot summary is as follows:
‘A young Scottish shepherd, following the death of his unfaithful wife, fights to maintain his own sanity when the past catches up to him.’
It was Mark Kermode’s film of the week for Friday 26 November; he described it as ‘that classic isolation story… very hauntingly shot… a pretty impressive piece of work.’ Tom Hughes and Kate Dickie star.
Shepherd isn’t Owen’s first foray into the genre, and horror fans might recall his zombie outbreak film Inmate Zero (also released as Patients of a Saint) from 2020. Darkland Distribution is the genre arm of UK indies Parkland Pictures. Check out the trailer below!
