BBC Three have released the first stills and casting information for Wrecked, a slasher-horror-comedy by Ryan J. Brown, set aboard a cruise ship called the Sacramentum.

The show is filming in Northern Ireland and will consist of six episodes, each weighing in at forty-five minutes. The press release describes it as ‘a pure love letter to slasher movies’ and gives the following synopsis:

‘Wrecked (w/t) is a tense thriller, mixing comedy with a slice of slasher, set aboard The Sacramentum cruise ship. The series follows 20-year-old new recruit, Jamie, as he infiltrates the 3000 strong crew in a desperate race to find his missing sister. She was working aboard the same vessel on a previous tour and vanished mid charter. Jamie is initiated into cruise life and gets a crash course on the tribes within the staff: the theatre kids, the mafias and the low-paid workers. For this overworked and underpaid crew, life below deck can be an odyssey of partying and excess… and they remain oblivious to the bloodthirsty murders taking place on board. Jamie is forced to turn detective and uncover the sinister truth.’

Jamie is played by Oscar Kennedy (Ladhood). Appearing alongside him are Thaddea Graham (The Irregulars), Jack Rowan (Noughts + Crosses), Harriet Webb (I May Destroy You), and Jodie Tyack (The Window). The cast also includes several new faces: Louis Boyer, Anthony Rickman, Amber Grappy, Diego Andres, Peter Claffey, Miya Ocego, Warren James Dunning, Ramanique Ahluwalia, and Alice Nokes.

The show is being produced by Euston Films (part of Fremantle) with support from Northern Ireland Screen. It’s due to air later this year, but in the meantime, we’ve posted the stills to whet your appetite, and we’ll provide more details as and when we know them.
